Apple manufacture Macintosh or Macs, IBM are a company that make mainly commercial computer systems and CPUs etc and were so good at it in the early days that all PCs are now known as IBM compatible so that they can actually connect to each other which years ago PCs from different manufacturers sometimes could not do.

The IBM PC was introduced in 1981 and was a PC;

IBM CPUs are now used in Macs by the way, used to be Motorola.

You don't need Mac to run InDesign and Photoshop. It might be easier to get a PC and the software is going to run similarly. The software is going to cost more than the laptop unless it's under a charity license.
