All condoms sold in the US are tested to meet national standards, so no one brand is technically better than the other. The only thing is the lubricant, pattern, and feel of the condom which varies among brands. That being said, yes some break and it is dependent mostly on the environment in which they have been stored.

As for being 2 days late, this is not significant and the swelling is likely PMS. Yes there is a chance but usually you test after 7 days of missed period.
