If you want to stay at home, the guard is the way to go. It will eat up 1 weekend of your month. Being in the CG will keep you in the states, but not close to home probably (on our major waterways). I'm not sure the Coast Guard has mental health specialists, but its worth a look. Just google coast guard jobs. You also have to make sure there are mental health specialists in your local guard or reserve unit.

PS: My friends brother just got home from a 4 month "deployment" to the Carribean in the Coast Guard. Just something to consider ;)
