The next day of Christmas is an ideal chance to provide thanks by delivering notecards. Celebrate Thank You Note Day by conntacting buddies and relatives to exhibit your appreciation and gratitude for his or her festive gifts and also to let them know just how much you value them.
Thank-you's should be sent within one month of returning from the honeymoon if the gift is received at or very near the wedding, or within two weeks of receiving the gift if received before the wedding. You do not send thank-you notes to people who attended the event but did not give a gift. You also don't hold a grudge against these people. (Technically, the guest thanks the hostess for her hospitality, the hostess doesn't thank the guest for partaking of her hosiptality; so no gift, no thank-you note.)
Announcements go to people who were not invited to the wedding, but would want to know about it (relatives living far away, etc.). In my opinion, announcements are in poor taste as they are a thinly veiled request for gifts without the opportunity to attend the party. I would never use them. People close to me know about the major events in my life, and don't need a formal announcement.
Interview Thank You note?
Contrary to what others may advise - send a formal thank you note after an interview. That's because this person gave you their time and consideration when they could have easily tossed your resume into the trash bin. In fact, I have been awarded contracts and positions merely because I bothered to write a formal thank you note.
This should be via postal mail - not email or phone call. That way your interviewer has something in hand to read and ponder over.
Your thankyou note should be typewritten and mailed in a #10 envelope. Type and send it out as quickly as possible – best sent the next day. Here's a brief example.

Give this 5 business days to get to Ms. Acme and for her to read it, etc. Then, if you haven’t heard from her by then (positive or negative), you should follow up with a phone call.

Thank you note woes!!!?
I don't know why everyone expects to receive a thank you note with the exact gift placed on the card (who really cares nowadays). Your idea is actually quite unique and sweet. To confirm that you appreciate the gift (for those in attendance), I would open it up acknowledge who it's from and tell them thank you and if you want, give them a hug. For those who expect more I guess they'll just have to suck it up (they're looking for special acknowledgment and really not worth the time).
For the ones who forward the gifts, make a note to send a thank you note to them with or without the gift.
