food for 9 months kid suffering with cancer?
Good God, I am so sorry for her. I would suggest foods rich in anti-oxidants - blueberries are a fruit very high in anti-oxidants. I hope and pray to God that this little baby beats the cancer. I have a 9 month old myself and I really feel for the baby and her parents. How awful it must be to discover your baby has cancer.
I copied this from a webpage, should give you some ideas of good foods to feed her.
Both the National Academy of Science and the National Cancer Institute advise eating at least 5 to 9 servings of carotenoid antioxidant rich foods every day. But, most people get only 1 or 2.
The highest-ranking fruits and vegetables are berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries), oranges, pink grapefruit, grapes, apricots, peaches, raisins, tomatoes, dark green leafy veggies (spinach, kale, etc.), Brussels sprouts, broccoli, beets, red peppers and carrots.
This baby will be in my prayers. I pray she goes into remission and goes on to lead a healthy, happy life. What is the prognosis for her? Are the doctors hopeful that they can get the cancer in remission? I really hope so. No baby or child should have to endure what she's going through :(
eta - I don't think the first answerer ''LYNNE'' has kids. Babies at 9 months can eat a wide variety of foods! My 9 month old son can eat all kinds of fruit chopped up in little pieces you can also just puree them too. There is a handy little food processor called a ''Magic Bullet'' that is excellent for pureeing foods to make baby food if the baby isn't eating finger foods yet.
