Consider what would "brighten" your day if the roles were reversed ... many of the things that would make your day will make someone else's.
I want to do a Customer Appreciate Day.?
Seriously, I've only seen customer appreciation in retail stores but I like your idea. Being a salon(?) I wouldn't limit it to one day because you only have so many time slots in a day...I'd do something where you offer a service free/discounted after a certain number of visits. This will make your regulars feel special and could make the list of regulars a lot longer...Also offering water, sodas, and coffee help to make the salon I go to much friendlier...It's the little things that people notice.
