I have it and I really like it. My family has used Banfield for about 10 years now, and (at least the one we go to) is really nice.

I just started my 3 month old puppy there when we got him, and it's saved us a bunch of money already. I took him to the vet the other day for another set of shots, and so far my savings from having the plan have been over $350. That's only after 1 month!

I'd highly reccommend it for a puppy. For an adult dog you really don't need it, as you won't have to take it to the vet as much so you wouldn't really be saving much money. But definitely for a puppy! It's so nice to be able to run him down the road for free if I'm afraid he's sick or something. I did that the other day, in fact.

After checking out that link, perhaps you may want to just scope out your local Banfield and see how they are. I've never had any of those problems at either of the Banfield's I've been to. My current vet is great - I see the same doctor and nurses everytime and they already know my dog and me by name. I never wait to get into a room, but usually sit for about 15 minutes before a doctor comes in. They always call the day before to remind me of my appointment and the day after to see how my pup is doing. They are always curteous and ALWAYS show me how much I'll be paying for what they want to do before they do it, just to get my consent. They explain everything to me before they proceed and just generally make me feel very comfortable and welcome with what they do.

Basically, I'd look at Banfield this way. The only one real blanket complaint over the Wellness plan is that if you have a vet you don't like, you're pretty much stuck paying for the plan for the full year. That being said, I'd pretty much view the Banfields as separate hospitals. They each have their own vets and staff and will each provide you with different care based on their personalities.

Remember that it's a chain of vets; it's almost like an Outback Steakhouse. Just because you have bad service at one Outback doesn't mean the entire chain of restaurants is terrible.
