Ramadan - The meaning of a name in Islam?

Dear asker

well what i can say for u is that yes "Honey" is a great name ! for alady ,, honey ;) ;-)

and since u have converted to islam recently i would like to share something with u abt islam :

I am muslim by choice , and thats for the following reasons that i found after study :

1- The view of Jesus and Mary in islam:

the view of jesus in islam is the best and the most reasonable as In islam jesus is looked at as a moderate view between two extreme views , jews humiliate jesus and his mother , whereas christians worship jesus and raise him above humanity this thing jesus denied and refused .

in the bible there has been altering but still there can be find from the bible ,, sayings of jesus that makes us know the truth

let us take an example of jesus saying "My God" in the bible, one can find that in alot of places in the bible like :

<<< after one of the scribes asked him Which is the first commandment of all? Jesus answered him, ((The first of all commandments {is}, Hear, O Israel The Lord our God is one Lord )) Mark 12: 28 to 33 (K.J.V.)>>>

and:

<<< Jesus in the gospel of John said “I ascend unto my God, and your God”. John 20:17 KJV >>>

and in alot of other places ..

notice the word -Our God - that jesus said this means that we have a common God we and jesus, God means creator this means we r both created and raised by the same God,, we as well as jesus

jesus always admitted and declared with hight Voice that he worships Our God that is in the heaven and invited us to worship him how can he be God after that

we always see jesus saying (my God) and praying to him why don't we just worship the God of jesus , that is; the creator of jesus

its amazing how jesus used to call God : (My God) and (Our God ) many times in the bible , God is the one who creats and rises that means jesus always used to say : (my creator).

which agrees with islam view of jesus as human prophet and no more than that.

Mary

also mary is considered in islam , as a very great woman and the purest woman on earth , but not as mother of God !!!

HolySpirit

the holy spirit is considered as the head of angels and he it is called gebrael , but its not a part of God nor any divine , he is just a creation of the One and Only true God that is in heaven .

2- Upon reading quran i found many amazing facts from those i found is scientific facts or miracles i will mention some of them:

Few miracles Of Quran

Big Bang

When describing the creation of the "heavens and the earth," the Qur'an states the theory of the "Big Bang" explosion at the start of it . the Qur'an says that "the heavens and the earth were joined together as one unit, before they were aparted:

Quran (21:30) {Have not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We cloved them asunder} [cloved them asunder means separated them].

and this was 1400 years before the discovery of the big bang theory.

Expansion of Universe

this amazing theory was discovered in the 20th century that the universe is continuing to expand after the big bang explosion,,

this idea ; that the universe is continuing to expand. was mentioned in quran 1430 years ago : {and The heavens, We have built them with power. And verily, We are still expanding it} quran (51:47).

Six days

Qur'an states that {Allah created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six days} Qur'an (7:54). While on the surface this might seem similar to the account related in the Bible, there are some important distinctions.

The verses that mention "six days" use the Arabic word "youm" (day). This word appears several other times in the Qur'an, each denoting a different measurement of time. In one case, the measure of a day is equated with 50,000 years (70:4), whereas another verse states that "a day in the sight of your Lord is like 1,000 years of your reckoning" (22:47). The word "youm" is thus understood, within the Qur'an, to be a long period of time -- an era or eon. Therefore, Muslims interpret the description of a "six day" creation as six distinct periods or eons. The length of these periods is not precisely defined, nor are the specific developments that took place during each period.

After completing the Creation, the Qur'an describes that Allah {settled Himself upon the Throne} Qur'an(57:4), to oversee His work. which is also a distinct point from the Biblical idea that God rested from the work he done, as in : (God rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made). (Gen. ii. 2.)

whereas quran says that not even the minor thing touched God from creating the heavens and earth:

{We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us} Qur'an (50:38).

Conclusion:

finally and in conclusion... The concept of God taught by Islam is, the Supreme being who is uncreated , anyone who is created, born or dies is not God.

i found that islam is the only religion that claims absolute uniqness of God and really means it and thus islam is the only religion today that follow the first commandment of all commandments to moses and jesus and mohammed which is :

"For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, [is] a jealous God:" [Exodus 34:14]

and jesus said:

after one of the scribes asked him Which is the first commandment of all? Jesus answered him, ((The first of all commandments is, Hear, O Israel The Lord our God is one Lord )) [Mark 12:28to33]

amen.

***

furthermore, In nicia council constantine forced people on only 4 gosepels , and burned alot of gosepels that said jesus was only a human prophet no more, and he killed those who oposed trinity , thus forcing trinity on christians ,

Constantine was a roman pagan all his life , he wanted to be called christian but he also wanted to maintain his roman believes , so what he did was that he inserted the pagan beliefs of trinity and idol or statues glorifying and worshiping into christianity , thus deviating christianity from the true word of God ..

thats why nowadays muslims r the real christians (followers of jesus) cause they follow the belief that jesus used to believe and the things he used to command , and they dont follow a diverted or a pagan originated believe.

Islam agrees most with the ten commandments to mosses out of all religions:

The ten commandments as stated in [Exodus 20:2–17 & Deuteronomy 5:6–21]:

-- I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

-- Do not have any other gods before me.

-- You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

-- You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,

*

-- You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.

Why do so many of the days of the week have Pagan names?

Why do so many of the days of the week have Pagan names?

The Old Testament was written mostly in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written mostly in Greek, but there are no Hebrew or Greek equivalents for the names of the days of the week that are now commonly used in English, or any other language. The reason for that, as many people are still very surprised to discover, is that the days of the week that we commonly identify have been given pagan names. In The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, the days of the week were identified only by number, the first to the seventh, while only one specific day, the seventh, was given a name, the Sabbath, which means rest.

Pagan people of ancient times believed in astrology; they worshiped the sun and the moon, and the 5 known planets that they named after pagan gods: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn (which can be seen in the night sky with the unaided eye; the other 3 planets of the solar system, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, to which modern-day scientists gave pagan names, were not discovered until after telescopes became available). The days of the week in English originated from the Latin or Germanic names for those pagan gods.

Sunday

Dies solis means the day of the sun, from which we get Sunday. Sun worship was marked by the use of the halo, or nimbus, which originated with the pagan Greeks and Romans to represent their sun god, Helios. Later artists adopted it for use in Christian images.

The halo is actually just the sun behind the person's head, as shown in the illustration. It's easy to recognize once one realizes what it is, although it's also often stylized to make it less obvious. Originally a very devious way of mixing idolatrous sun worship with Christianity by converts who were not all that converted, the pagan halo became a very misleading tradition in Christian art.

Monday

Dies lunae (from which comes the word lunar), means moon day, from which we get the shortened version, Monday.

Tuesday

Dies Martis, means mars day, after Mars, the Roman god of war. The day was known to the pagan Germans after their own god of war, Tiw (pronounced too) as Tiw's (pronounced tooz) day, from which we get Tuesday.

Wednesday

Dies mercuri, means mercury day. Woden (pronounced woe-den) was the Germanic version of the pagan god mercury, and they named the day Woden's day, from which we get Wednesday.

Thursday

Dies Jovis means Jove's day, or Jupiter's day. Thor was the Germanic version of the god Jupiter, so they called the day Thor's Day, from which we got Thursday.

Friday

Dies Veneris means Venus Day. The Germanic version of this female god was Frigg, or Freyja (pronounced fry-yah), so they called the day Freyja day, from which we got Friday.

Saturday

Dies Saturni means Saturn day, from which came Saturday. The pagans also observed their Saturnalia festival in the last week of December, a time when work ceased, gifts were exchanged, and slaves feasted with their masters.
