The term punch means five, coming initially from from the Hindustani word panch. Hitting the heavy bad everyday isnt a good idea, it will slow u down and not work as effectively since u need to rest ur arms for a day or 2 before u can go full speed. Ur arms need to be at optimal condition to do an effective heavy bag workout.
As for ur knuckles, that happens to me when I use smaller gloves. Thats why I have 3 gloves: 16 oz, 12 oz and the small mma gloves so if my hands get sore I just use a bigger one
