There is no such thing as blissful ignorance. Ignorance won't revolutionize or bring out change. It won't help economic development or bring out American prosperity. Liberation from ignorance however will. Our society needs to stop holding on to the past and move forward into the present.
To answer your question, yea I guess a large majority of Americans are content wholeheartedly with being ignorant. But I'm not sure they would view it as ignorance, or rather their perception (a distorted one in our eyes) of how their lives are, have been and want to stay.

When i started practice 22 years back it was very difficult to make people understand that Ayurveda is the best way to regain health but i used to sit idle, to day i specialize in all those problems where modern science has best research but no medicine. I prepare more than 40 medicines of my specialisations. Now more & more people are adding worldwide. Thanks to internet where every research on every herb is available for people to know that Ayurvedic medicine are safe & effective. In medicine part of Ayurveda 1 is herbal medicine & 2nd is from Ras Tantra Sar, both systems are effective but in the cases of emergency in RTS their are nuclear medicines which effects in minutes i.e. my medicine Jwarantak Yogras which cures viral fever, malaria & typhoid in just four hrs. fever never repeats after 1 capsule only. So, the myth that Ayurvedic medicines are safe but slow, people have started believing & the prospects are best but with growing demand i can say that doctors/diagnostics/hospitals are costliest of modern science but Ayurvedic medicines specially Ras Tantra Sar are the costliest in the world. And in future popular but costliest.

Our advice should be that to use wired bug protection on windows and doors,getting rid of any water pools ,don't use chemical,but dam it with soil keep water closed or protected in large reservoirs for public and clean containers in houses,don't pee in water streams and pools getting rig of gray water don't let it for the next day ,apply hygiene basics for private and public,and eat fresh and healthy food.check your health and blood test currently in medical center.
