It really just depends on the types of souvenirs you want to buy, and whether you'll need extra money for snacks and things in the parks. I'd plan for at least $50 a day to cover those kinds of things. Souvenirs can be expensive in Disney - $25 for adult t-shirts, sweatshirts start around $40, there are jewelry and purses that can be pricey, etc. But you can find cheap things too - magnets, keychains, mugs, etc.
It is often warm enough to swim in Orlando during December. You can bring a bathing suit just in case you have the chance. I'd plan to wear jeans/pants and short sleeves during the day, and maybe bring a light jacket or hoodie in case it is cooler in the mornings and evenings. You can take a backpack into the parks, where you could keep that if you don't need to wear it. Pack comfortable shoes - you do a LOT of walking at Disney.

hi, i got a 2007 birnbaum's book about Disney and it rocks, however, it says nothing specifically about Christmas day.

Disney's magical holidays: decorations/festivities abound in the Parks and resorts. Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's very merry Christmas party Nov through the first three weeks of December (which will be over by Christmas day). there is a mickey's very merry Christmas parade and a special edition of the wishes fireworks show. animal kingdom presents the jingle jungle parade. Epcot has Holidays around the world and has a Christmas candlelight processional with a choral concert and a celebrity narrator. this event is included with park admission but seating is limited and the show is extremely popular. should arrive 1 hour prior to the show.
the Osborne family spectacle of lights is until January brightening Disney MGM studios and then there are new years celebrations where MK, Epcot and MGM have extra large fireworks displays and are open until 1am.
