I'm not doing anything about it more than usual. I think most women are already aware that breast cancer exists.
It's not something I want to dwell on, or to be afraid of because I think that fearing something like that can actually help in bringing it into a person's life.
When I see information on how to prevent it -- not using deodorant that contains aluminum, for instance, considering how many women have breast tumors that are precisely in that outer area there near the where the aluminum concentrates from the deodorant under the arms -- and other information, I read it and I pass it on.
I'm very sorry for your wife's struggles with it, and happy for her that she is finished with her treatment - I hope it was successful and that she lives to be 120!
And I pray I never get it, myself. Or anyone I know.

Day to Day: When the sign two after yours or two before yours is involved there is an automatic edge of understanding. This is largely because the elements involved are compatible (earth and water in this case). Cancer is a care-giver and so is Virgo. Cancer is funny and So is Virgo. Cancer loves safety and comfort, so does Virgo but Virgo is ruled by earth and Cancer is ruled by water and what makes the crab feel safe is a bit different for the Virgin. Virgo is safe with some kind of order (earth). Whether it's a neat house or a steel trap mind Virgo finds comfort knowing the system of order. For the crab it's a feeling, the place could be in complete chaos but if it "feels" like home they are happy. This isn't one of their big problems, those come later. For the most part, these two have fun together, Virgo can get a little dry and Cancer has fun wetting the Virgin down with a little imaginative humor or even a funny tale of how they torture themselves taking care of the world.
The Passion Zone: The Virgin's name is somewhat misleading. All mutable signs have a dualistic nature. For Virgo it's the "Nun" or the "Whore" which obviously means that though they look rather puritan, until they give themselves permission to let down their mask and through away the frock. Cancer's are usually gentle in the bedroom and highly imaginative. If they can get past any Virgo criticisms (and there will likely be some) these two can have a ball in the bedroom.
Planetary Rulerships: Cancer is ruled by the moon, the moon is about our deeper subconscious desires, feelings, urges and needs. The moon has many phases and moods and is the feminine aspect in all of us. Virgo is Mercury ruled and has a mental set of rules that must be followed. The Moon loves the feeling of order because of the watery realm in which it exists.
The Worst: "Alone In The Crowd Of Feelings" Cancers love to socialize and Virgos love to keep hidden in their private little dwellings. This can be a problem for the Cancer who wants to share their abode with friends and acquaintances. The Virgin has no trouble retreating to the ivory tower but the risk involved is in hurting the Cancer's ego. Virgos have within them a strong critic that often attacks them for stepping outside the lines of their personal morality. They are also great at finding the flaw in anything (the gift of their detailed eye is from Mercury. They also like to be alone (something they don't recognize at all times but when they do the critic immerges and pushes the partner away). Cancers are rather sensitive to any form of rejection and because of their pushy natures (that's called being Cardinal) they sometimes only hear things you want when they get their feelings hurt. Unfortunately, for the crab, Virgos are usually right in their refined mental arguments so it does no good to defend yourself. Since Virgos love their time alone and Cancers will wall up behind their tough little shell you may often find these two in a house of absolute quiet.
The Best: "A Perfect World" Virgos eventually learn that perfect is a world of chaos. There is, after all, some order to that philosophy. Cancer eventually learns that when the Virgin wants to be alone it's not a personal rejection. Who cares if you sleep in different rooms, or if you have learned how to line your shoes in the closet. It's a small price to pay for the steel-trap commitment that is developed between the two of them. Virgos can easily understand and be warmed by Cancer's sincere appreciation of them and Cancer loves the protection provided by someone who, though usually a skeptic, believes in them. They can fill a room with uncanny laughter and appreciate each other for years to come if there is flexibility within their relationship. Both have a large capacity for compassion and both can offer the other one the security needed to thrive for many years.

but remember-- don't rely ALL of your relationship on this, after all-- we are the ones that make changes in our lives. oh-- and my boyfriend and i are the same. i'm cancer, he's virgo-- and we love each other madly-- literally. we love each other soooo much, and we're serious about our relationship with one another. it's the best relationship i've ever been in-- and i can't imagine sharing the rest of my life with anyone else.
