Foods aren't all the same. You need to read the guidelines on the bag of food you're feeding; all dogs are fed according to weight. Keep in mind its only a guideline - if the dog's too fat, you feed less, if too think, you feed more. But if you've got a dog who was malnourished, putting weight on her too quickly would be very unhealthy, she needs to gain slowly until she's the correct weight.
How important is food on Thanksgiving Day?
Food of course,is integral to any act of "Breaking Bread" and sharing bounty with others,including the time of Thanksgiving and whether with loved ones,friends or strangers...I especially like your addition of the word,"Trust"...There is a "mysterious bonding" and feeling of 'trust' that often takes root when either inviting or being invited to share with others,around the dinner table,even during times of non-celebration...
As an added note...I honestly am equally thankful each day of the year

Food poisoning day three i don't know what to do!?
Food poisoning would have gone away by now, it hardly ever lasts more than 1 day. You could have the stomach flu so try to wait it out a few days and eat dry bread. If it doesn't help you may need to go to the doctors!
