On this Women's Day I gave my mother a bouquet of flowers, a pen,a kiss and prayed for her long life.
BUT
I feel that even if we celebrate Women's Day, it is DISCRIMINATION between the two Genders because,
Do we ever have a ‘Men’s Day’? OR Are we a different species?
According to me,either we should have Mothers day rather than Women's day or we should have both Men's day and Women's day,
What does International Women's Day signify to people?
International women's day is a day for women that are being oppressed around the world to be recognized. Their plight is made more aware. Did Phoolan Devi really do what she had to for women's right is highly questioned. If indeed those were her reasons, her methods were definitely unorthodox. Violence doesn't really help anyone. Now Ida B Wells, is a different story. She didn't just help women, she helped her race. She documented lynching for one thing. She was also an early leader in the civil rights movement. I have nothing but the utmost respect for her.
