Alfred Nobel was the inventor of Dynamite.......which in his day, made him the BILL GATES of the world, It was a ridulously usefool thing, and much sought after, and he made a wise decision to keep the patent to HIMSELF, personally overseeing EVERY factory that opened around the WORLD, and ensuring that the process remained HIS secret. It made him ridiculously wealthy in his lifetime. He also invented many , many other things........but Dynamite was his baby.
It was used for things like blowing up tons of rock, to make the Panama Canal and things like that.......so its usefulness was not to be underesitmated.
Alas, its destructive power, was not lost on the powers of WAR.........and he felt terrible about that until the day he died. He meant it as solely a useful TOOL...........he did NOT envision the horror it would ultimately cause.
To repay society and the world for the horror he unleashed.......he started the Nobel Prizes, for those who make the best SCIENTIFIC discoveries and work towards PEACE and other prizes for the BETTERMENT of Mankind.
He was, at the end of the day, just an inventor, who really wanted to HELP the world......not be a part of destroying it.
