Rarely will the word ‘germ’ mean anything remotely positive. The seem from the word makes onto your nose relax in disgust – you actually shouldn't be catching any bacteria! Why do you think some of the best musicians commit suicide?

Artists have to be in touch with their feelings, understand them and then interpret them in an artistic way. Artists tend to experience events and emotions more intensely then others, so this means they are more predisposed to depression. Some artists also find inspiration in their misfortune - its the force that drives their creativity. (This doesn't apply to every artist out there)

There is another factor that influences the successful artists greatly and that's their lifestyle. They are more exposed to booze, drugs are easily accessible, never ending tours, and the constant pressure to be the best! Combine these factors with the problems they might have outside their profession and you have a recipe for disaster.

Iin my opinion its not that the best artists are always the one who are most likely to commit suicide. I think that the level of creative genius has nothing to do with how you solve or not solve problems in life. A lot of people commit suicide, the difference is that they are not popular. On the other hand, there are a lot of genius artists that are still alive, take Stevie Wonder for example. So suicide has less to do with the level of genius and more to do with the kind of lifestyle stars live.

At the end of the line it doesn't matter whether you are a mega superstar or a clerk at the mall. There are different people in this world. Some are more popular than others, hence this question. It was an interesting subject to think about. Thanks!
