Certain things yes, certain things no. The founding fathers were as contentious and argumentative a lot as we've ever seen, in other words, they were Americans. Some would be thrilled that we've enacted things like social security, medicare, and medicaid. Others would demand to know why we haven't revolted since the passing of a direct taxation amendment. Overall I think, once given time to put the present day in proper context, they would be horrified at the sheer size and scope of the government. The volume of money taken and spent, and what it's spent on, would undoubtedly make most of them shudder. They'd be proud that we've lasted as long as we did, but I think most of them would kind of wonder how. And maybe why.
