Do you believe Jesus changed the world?

He changed not just the world, but men's hearts. And beyond that. Only those who are willfully blind, or willfully ignorant, deny His influence. How do I explain it? I could just as easily explain God. Though I can describe some of the attributes of God, and although those same attributes are reflected in Jesus, I could never fully explain either. One of the most moving writings I have ever read about Jesus is this:

******

Know thou that when the Son of Man yielded up His breath to God, the whole creation wept with a great weeping. By sacrificing Himself, however, a fresh capacity was infused into all created things. Its evidences, as witnessed in all the peoples of the earth, are now manifest before thee. The deepest wisdom which the sages have uttered, the profoundest learning which any mind hath unfolded, the arts which the ablest hands have produced, the influence exerted by the most potent of rulers, are but manifestations of the quickening power released by His transcendent, His all-pervasive, and resplendent Spirit.

We testify that when He came into the world, He shed the splendor of His glory upon all created things. Through Him the leper recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified.

Why don’t people get leprosy anymore?

Why don't people get leprosy anymore?

Hello,

I agree with the previous answer, people do still get leprosy. The modern world distribution of leprosy is shown here,

At highest risk are those living in leprosy-areas with poor conditions such as inadequate bedding, contaminated water and insufficient diet, or other diseases (such as HIV) that compromise immunity function. It is substantially a disease of the poor and deprived.

Drug treatment is available these days to kill the causative germ, called 'Myco-bacterium leprae.' There is some problem with 'single drug resistance,' meaning that the leprosy germ is 'fighting back' against killer drugs.

The tuberculosis vaccination called 'B.C.G.,' is very effective also at preventing leprosy. This is because the TB germ and the leprosy germ are close relatives. It isn't quite clear to me why this effect has not been more exploited.

I hope this is of some help.

Best wishes,

I couln't find why. Just found that it is. I had never heard of it before.
