weight training: every other day neccessary?

weight training: every other day neccessary?

Weight training everyday is in-fact not healthy. You need the day inbetween to let your muscles heal, when you lift weights your muscles actually "rip/ break" as they build strenght. Circut training (all muscle groups in one day; leg curls, leg extentions, leg press, chest press, pull down, bicep curls...etc.)is the best way to go; and you can either take the day in the middle of lifting off or you can do 30 min. or more of cardio....this all gets you in great shape in no time and feels good too.

Interval sprint training on same day as weightlifting?

Interval sprint training on same day as weightlifting?

If you are training very hard, you should do these activities on different days, especially if your weight training involves leg work.

Moderate training intensities require less 'recovery', so you can 'get away with' training your upper body at a moderate intensity, and then training your legs just as hard later in the day.

If your weight training is light and sustained (consolidation or 'local muscle endurance' work) then adding a high-intensity session later in the day might work well. Doing it before your long weights session will probably tire you too much.

If your intervals are part of a sport-specific training regime, intended to produce an optimum improvement that 'peaks' at the right time for a competition, then you should probably define an appropriate intensity for each day. High intensity work is almost always more effective with a rest day before and another one afterwards.
