Recess in gradeschool?
Where I live they still have recess and PE. In the elementary school, they get a morning break of 10 - 15 minutes where they play outside and then after lunch they get to play outside again. PE rotates with Art & Music so the kids have PE every 3rd day. In the middle school, PE is required but it is every day for 9 weeks, I think. They rotate art for 9 weeks, music for 9 weeks, and health for 9 weeks. I'm pretty sure each one is 9 weeks, I know they rotate. It is important to for our kids to have physical activity and to be taught about good, healthy habits. I don't know why an elementary school would eliminate recess or PE.
Last recess ever?
Lol. My last day of recess was like.. 9 years ago. Honestly, you won't look back at your childhood when you're 21 and miss recess, it really won't stand out. ;) But I understand you wanting to celebrate with something meaningful and sentimental. Just have fun & enjoy your friends. Do what you like best during recess. Play Boys chase Girls, I kind of miss the innocence and excitement of that game. =)
