Good 2.0 Computer Speakers?

I discovered these the other day. They are like professional sound monitors, they are powered 2.0 - the quality is amazing and they are so cheap. They are Called Microlab SOLO5C GAMER or SOLO6C GAMERs They are around the $115 to $130AUD price range. However there are some slightly lower range ones, still amazing quality, the SOLO1C and SOLO2C variants. They all come with their own IR remote control too! which is pretty cool.

I bought a set of SOLO5C's and immediately replaced my surround setup with them because they sounded so damn good.

Speakers FUCKED!!?

Speakers FUCKED!!?

I'd be pissed to. I've had speaker troubles before.

It could be a wiring problem or an electricity issue.

I'd reccomend bringing your laptop to a computer repair shop or GeekSquad to have a professional evaluate and find out what the problem is.

Pyle speakers to amplifier?

Pyle speakers to amplifier?

The spec that says they are capable of 800 watts RMS does not in any way mean you have to have 800 watts to drive them.

I have had professional speakers that would drive you out of the house at 5 watt RMS per channel, and 2 watts was a good loud listening level.

For large speakers with 10, 12, 15 inch woofers, 20 watts per channel is sufficient in a home system, I have sold many, many systems like that. I have done dances in a basketball gym peaking at 50 watts per channel on calibrated watt meters, and the chaperone's were hollering to turn it down.

It would theoretically take a 1600 watt amp to blow the Polk's, and I once did a pop festival with an 1100 watt Altec amp, covering 10 acres of open ground for 3 days. It remains to be seen how efficient the Polk's are at low power.

As far as hurting the amp goes, a good 50 watt per channel amp can peak at 50 watts non-stop without ever hurting itself.

As a general rule, smaller, cheaper speakers are less efficient than larger, more expensive ones. I once had an antique pair of Electro Voice Patrician corner-horn speakers with 30 inch woofers that only took 1 watt per channel to drive loudly, it depends on the speakers.
