what does a child day care specialist do?

Child day care specialist is another term for nanny. You do know what nannies do, don't you?

Simply put, a child day care specialist looks after a group of children while their parents are not around them (e.g. at work or on a business trip).

What is Children's Day?

Children's Day,although proclaimed an ''International'' Day in 1952 is mostly popular in Poland on the 1st of June. On this day, kids get presents for being kids, some schools give them off-days :)

The presents are mostly mild trinkets given by parents, grandparents - chocolates,candy...and in the case of my friend,a Playboy bath ducky (from his sweet unknowing grandma :P)

school children - how many days per year and how many hours per day?

school children - how many days per year and how many hours per day?

Typically children in the UK go to school for 39 weeks per year, less 5 teacher training days. This is split in to 3 terms - (September - December with half term break of 1-2 weeks in late october and 2 weeks over Xmas and New Year), (January - April with half term break in February and 2 weeks in April before next term), and (April-July with half term break in late May and 6 weeks at end of July). Private fee paying schools often run for less time (around 34 weeks usually).

Children spend around 5 1/2 hours in school - 8.45 - 3.15ish for primary school (up to age 11) with 1 hour for lunch and 2 x 15 minute breaks. Senior school children spend about 1/2 hour longer at school with similar breaks, sometime slightly less breaks.

School children usually have the choice of a hot paid for meal, or can take sandwiches which the majority of children do.

If you go to any school website, there will be a breakdown of the school day in it's prospectus online.

Hope that helps!
