Moms-in-law obtain a pretty bad deal. Will they deserve the status they've for bothering boy-in-laws and regulations, and try to as being a witch?  Mother-In-Law Day gives both you and your mother-in-law an opportunity to become familiar with one another, and to escape all individuals horrible expectations. think about what your mother in law likes to do,go,etc. for instance my mother in law loves to cook and shop for food. she has this need to feed everyone. so i could buy her a gift certificate to costco or a grocery store. or buy her a pot set,dish set. etc hope this helps. or if you have children. you could take pictures of them and have it blown up with a saying under it for her. and then frame it. you can do that for under $10 at walmart or kinkos.

I think it's a lovely gesture. In addition, a son should give his mother something for her day beside a greeting card for all those dirty diapers she changed, meals she cooked, appointments she took him to, etc. etc. I'm sure she will know you're just as much a part of it as he is.

Would you be happy to take your mother in law out on Valentines Day?

Hope you weren't too upset about the suggestion about your Mum as you said you no longer have one. I think it's a lovely gesture for you husband to take you both out. It's kinda saying these are the two most important women in my life. How great is that. She will be delighted and hey...it's only Valentines day...I've been on my own for years now and have never been out on valentines day not even when I was married. It's one of those comercial things as someone I think has already mentioned. All us 'singles' hate that day. Especially if you in work and loads of bunches of flowers turn up for everyone but yourself. So count yourself lucky you have a caring husband and have been blessed with a long marriage. What makes you think you'll be the only one in the restaurant sitting with your mother in law. Their may be other groups of people around other tables. Anyway who cares what anyone else thinks..enjoy the moment I say. Have a great time all of you.
