Released in 1953, International Translation Day is really a quite recent entry in to the calendar of world occasions. Established through the Worldwide Federation of Translators, the annual celebration is definitely an chance to pay for tribute towards the work of translators who endeavour to help make the world a rather more compact place by wearing down language obstacles and permitting great literature to become loved much more broadly. The job of translators is viewed as being of accelerating importance because of growing possibilities for worldwide travel and globalisation of trade marketplaces. The big event is marked with a number of devoted occasions, workshops and symposiums around the globe. International Translation Day itself coincides using the feast day's St. Jerome, a Christian scholar and priest who had been the very first person to translate the Bible into Latin in the original Hebrew, which makes it accessible the very first time to some far wider audience. St. Jerome may be the patron saint of translators.
I personally do not know how well international translators have been fairing lately. I am sure it is not too difficult to secure a career doing that if you speak the right languages fluently.
I did however go to the Art and Culinary Institute of Las Vegas. I live in Las Vegas, and I know that since there is such a HUGE demand for chefs in the hotel/tourism industry, that it is not difficult to find a job. At a very high end hotel/casino... they make big bucks. I am sure the same goes for any major city.
There really is no way of being able to predict how the job market is going to shift in the next 5-6 years. If there is, then that person is getting paid a lot of money in Washington.
If I were to choose. I think I would choose the chef career path. From a personal stand point, it would give me a more settled secure feeling. Rather than an international translator who would most likely have to travel often, and not have as much time for a family as well as deal with all the turmoil of international affairs that have been going on. However, if having a family and settling down in a specific area for 5-20 years doesn't sound like your thing, and you want to travel the world, I would pursue the international route.
What is the international language?
I believe it would be bullets. here are your lyrics.
what would you do if one day you slept.. and when you wake up the next day
you saw youself in the mirror.. and cried
a question goes in your mind... you scream.. who am i?? who am i??
am i still who i am or i'm devided into two persons.. so what's next??
(means soul separation)
hey you in the mirror tell me.. explain to me what's up
are you happy? are you tired? do you feel comfortable?? are you regretful?
so many things in our life
caused us to feel confused... but we're still living (coming and going)
what would you do, if one day you waked up
and found that the closest person to you is not around?? (left you)
who did that to you??
isn't that you?? or someone had tied up your eyes?.. what's next??
hey you in the mirror tell me.. explain to me what's up
..
are you happy? are you tired? do you feel comfortable?? are you regretful?
so many things in our life
caused us to feel confused... but we're still living (coming and going)
DO I NEED A International drivers license??
An International Driving Permit is not a legal requirement but recommended for driving in the USA.
Application is available here.
You can go to the following site for more information on how to apply for an IDP
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is valid for 12 months form the date of issue. Recognised internationally it normally allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle when accompanied by a valid UK driving license.
The following is from:
Foreign Visitors Driving in the U.S.
Quick facts for foreign visitors about driving in the United States
An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves as an official translation of the holder's driver's license into 10 foreign languages. The purpose of an IDP is to supplement, not replace, valid government issued
licenses. It serves as a translation of a drivers license and assists with understanding, but does not provide driving priveleges by itself. We recommend, especially if your foreign license is not in English, that you contact the automobile association or driving authorities in your home country to get an international driving permit before traveling, as the United States does NOT issue international driver's permits to foreign visitors.
If you are going to reside in the U.S., you can get a U.S. driver's license once you are in the U.S., but it may take several months to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
The U.S. government has issued warnings about Internet vendors of worthless international driver's licenses/permits. It is important to educate yourself about the dangers of these costly and illegal operations. See International Driver's License Warning from Federal Trade Commission. You must get an International Driver's Permit from your home country.
