Firefighters’ Day remembers the dedication, gallantry and need for firefighters from around the globe. Firefighters from all over have come to the aid and rescue of the
tragedy in New York and Washington DC Many firefighters have lost
their lives to save someone else's. The truth of the matter is they do
this every single day. They truly are heroes.
I know many of us feel the same as I do - - helpless, especially those
of us who live far from NY and DC. We all want to do something, show our
appreciation, our support. I think we can...
In honor of the bravery, courage and determination of American
firefighters, there should be a day in our nation to celebrate and
appreciate their hardwork and never ending passion for saving lives.
It is our hope, that the Congress of the United States of America will set aside a Nation Firefighter's Day so that we may recognize these brave men and women that serve this country.

9/11 documentary?????????????
The best documentary I've seen on the subject is "9/11" by Gedeon and Jules Naudet. They were supposed to be documenting a NYC rookie firefighter's first days on the job. After days of unusually slow activity, they were on the street filming a response to a routine gas leak when they heard a low-flying plane and raised their camera in time to catch the first tower being hit. They take it from there and create an incredible one-of-a-kind record of what went on that day.
EDIT: I'm looking for others, but it's a matter of sifting through all the armchair detective conspiracy crap.
Why are the police and firefighter's unions exempt from Wisconsin Gov. Walker's union-busting bill?
"The Rachel Maddow Show" and "The Ed Show" (the latter broadcast LIVE from the Wisconsin demonstrations) both exposed the campaign-contribution factor in this union-breaking bill---and Rachel also emphasized this is an ALL-OUT WAR on the Democratic party, just as the ACORN trumped-up attacks have been!
I would suggest to the demonstrators and to all of their supporters nation-wide to learn which banks the state government uses and which investment firm handles their retirement funds (i.e., Price Waterhouse, etc.)...then set up INFORMATIONAL PICKETS (permits in hand if needed) in front of these businesses as well as in front of the bankster Presidents' homes, and the investment firms' CEO's home...while simultaneously using AFL-CIO, relatives, friends, supporters, anyone available to tie up all phone lines and all tellers with trivial CRAPPOLA. These institutions stand to lose $$MILLIONS$$ each day if this goes on for long...and the CEO and bankster fatcats then PRESSURE the Governor and the union-breaking Republicans to BACK OFF!
