The people of Paris didn't like the Eiffel Tower because they viewed it as an eye sore to the city. Journalists mocked the tower for being ugly and hideous. One journalist hated the tower so much, he ate lunch there every day. When asked why he ate at a place he loathed so much, he responded by saying it was the only place in Paris he could go without staring at the hideous tower.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the world's fair in 1889 and was supposed to be dismantled after a 20 year agreement between Eiffel and the city of Paris had been reached. The tower proved to be a good communications tower, so Paris officials decided not to take it down.

Photography in Eiffel Tower?

Photography in Eiffel Tower?

7 millions tourists visit the Eiffel tower every year, around 19000 tourists per day, big chances that there's at least one professional photographer when you go.

You can also ask different people to take pictures of you, I travel on my own quite often and I ask people to take pictures of me, in 3 occasions, they were professional photographers, they gave me their cards. One of them was in Honfleur, one of the kindest person I ever met, he took lots of pictures, some with my camera, some with his camera and then he sent me the pictures to Paris, for free, great pictures. The other photographer was during a boat cruise in Switzerland, he took lots of pictures and we are friends since then. Another time, it was funny, I asked a picture and the person laughed but took 3 or 4 pictures, then he took his sunglasses off and I realised he was Gunter Sachs, we both laughed.

I live in Paris and don't do much touristic things though I saw a photographer at a bateau mouche (a boat), so I guess there are photographers at the Eiffel tower.

Just don't give an expensive camera.
