Nothing beats healthy eating.

Concentrate on overall fitness and maintaining a healthy heart.

For best results, eat six times a day. Try balancing your meals 70% protein 30% carbs.

Eat a combination of lean protein and healthy carbohydrates every few hours throughout the day to speed up fat loss and maintain stable energy levels.

Eat your proteins from lean sources (Chicken, fish, boiled eggs, lean beef with all the fat drained off) and beans (lentil, lima, chile or any type of bean)

For your carbs stay away from breads and rice. They do provide energy but they are high in calories. Choose leafy vegetables, carrots, raisins, broccoli and fresh fruits. Weight train intensely, three times per week on alternating days with aerobic exercise three times per week.

Drink 10 to 20 glasses water per day NO SODA

Am I eating enough vegetables a day?

Am I eating enough vegetables a day?

Absolutely not.

Granted it's better than donuts but full of preservatives & sodium.

Raw fruits & veggies still contain the nutrients & vitamins our bodies need. Processed food like V8 contain additives we do not need. it is a start but try some fresh fruits & veggies. Frozen is second best to fresh even though some nutrition is loss. Canned would be the last resort, since filled with preservatives.

Good Luck on your healthier eating habits!

More info:

You need 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies a day. More veggies are better than fruit which are sugar & need to be burned or they too turn to fat. one bannana is typically 2 servings.

A variety of colors on your plate! Plus with veggies you can load up a plate of broccoli & Mrs dash (no butter) and eat 4 oz steak & be full.

Also starchy veggies are not good for you either, still better than that donuts though : )
