Westminster Dog Show 2019 is on Sunday, February 10, 2019: Which is the highest award given in the Westminster Dog Show?
Sunday, February 10, 2019 is Westminster Dog Show 2019.
Looks like it's all three. From the show premium:
"BEST IN SHOW
The Westminster Kennel Club offers a Silverplated Trophy for Best in Show.
The James Mortimer Memorial Sterling Silver Trophy for Best in Show if American-bred. For permanent
possession to be won five times by the same owner. A Sterling Silver Trophy will be given to
commemorate each win.
The Leash offers a Perpetual Sterling Silver Challenge Cup for Best in Show, if American-bred. A
Silverplated Trophy to be given to commemorate the award.
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Event Committee offers the Westminster Legend, a hand-engraved
Steuben Crystal Trophy for Best in Show."
If you're only going to do one, I'd go with the first (I think the bowl), since that is the original one offered by the WKC.
Advice at Westminster- or all dog shows?
The majority of the owners/handlers are happy to talk to you about their breed and other aspects of dog showing, as long as their not about to go in the ring or busy grooming their dogs.
It's a benched show, so the dogs and owner/handlers have to hang around until the end of the day, even though they may be done showing.
I would stick to a regular digital cmera. Also keep in mind, it gets very very busy and crowded in the benching area. (There are also tons of vendors and dog food companies there that give out free samples)
Go and have fun.
