Freedom of speech should be protected as one of our basic freedoms; however, people who hide behind the right to free speech to spread lies and propaganda, those who twist facts and do nothing but create hate and discontent should be banned from radio and TV. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and has the right to speak their mind but those who constantly rant and rave are sick. We have laws that protect us from false advertising, we have laws that cover truth in lending, and there are court cases after court cases where people have been banned from public meetings for being disruptive. People like Limbaugh and Hannity should be banned from TV and radio; who are their sponsors - maybe they should be boycotted until they stop funding these nuts!
How do reality/game shows work?
I am not a pro, but I am a reality tv fan so I will give you my take on it.
1. When do the cameramen film the contestants talking to the camera? Do they film it all at one time or each week? And where?
A: when the cameramen filming the contestants talking to the camera one on one it is usually just once maybe a couple of times depending on how long the show is. it can be done anywhere sitting outside on the ranch somewhere like you see in biggest loser. or just doing an interview in a room of a hotel or someone's home.
2. Are contestants being filmed every hour of the day? If not, when are the hours they are filmed?
They are not being filmed every hour of everyday unless they are on a show like Big Brother. other shows have times set up with the camera crews. like they plan ahead from 8-5pm they will be taping that day. if something is going on later that night they will schedule for it, and even sometimes if something big is going to happen and they know, they will call the camera crew and say get over her now... as fast as you see it play out on tv they are spending a lot of time taping.
3. How many people are involved in the making? There is the host, a few cameramen, and who else will the contestants come in contact with?
a lot of people are involved in the making of a reality show. there is a Producer sound, camera and vision and post-production roles such as edit assistants to administrative and management staff. Depends on the show who else they come in contact with
If the media is run entirely by men why is there day time talk shows with female hosts who put down men?
Daytime talk-shows is one facet of the media. It doesn't represent the media as a whole and even though most media companies are chaired by a man, it is a business at the end of the day. Most businesses must sell their products to the demographic that consumes it the most.
Daytime talk shows as well as daytime TV itself is catered towards a female audience since that demographic is what consumes that product the most, which is money in the company's pocket. That's why its called the "Boob Tube" during those hours.
