Spring Fairy Fun Day 2017 is on Tuesday, March 21, 2017: Why do people pinch you on St. Patricks Day for not wearing green?
Tuesday, March 21, 2017 is Spring Fairy Fun Day 2017. Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherrys: March 2011 Spring Fairy Fun Day
1) Forgot to wear green on St. Patty’s Day? Don’t be surprised if you get pinched. No surprise, it’s an entirely American tradition that probably started in the early 1700s. St. Patrick’s revelers thought wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, fairy creatures who would pinch anyone they could see (anyone not wearing green). People began pinching those who didn’t wear green as a reminder that leprechauns would sneak up and pinch green-abstainers.
2) We believe the custom of pinching if you do not wear green started in America's classrooms. Green reminds us of spring and the lush Green pastures in Ireland, therefore it became a custom in America to wear Green in rememberance of St. Patrick's Day. Kids in school would pinch kids who did not wear green on that day, and the kids had so much fun they kept doing it year after year.
3) It began first as when someone decided that they wanted their children to remember where they came from. And wearing green was an obvious way to say "I'm proud to be Irish". The pinch was a reminder/punishment for not being proud to be Irish.
Another fairy tale thing, will you comment?
So hugging you.
She lost her glass slipper as she had to run
12 chimes sounding an end to her fun,
Wondering after, where it might be
Night over, life not yet free
Someones Wine goblet found?
Morning brought Heralds trumpet sound
A knock to the door, she ran to know
her heart still racing, last night fantasies flow.
"Good day fair ladies I came to find
this slippers owner, not leaving my mind."
Gasping, bowing, taken aback
Not one fit in, alas and alack
Her face seen peeking he called
"You lost this Princess, at last nights ball."
Sweey lady, I meant not to steal your thunder. Forgive me.
Wouldn't it be nice if ...?
Wouldn’t it be nice if:
The Red Sox won the World Series again All four seasons were Spring Chocolate had no calories Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy really existed Every day was Saturday There were no spiders larger than a dime Socks multiplied rather than disappeared in the dryer Aladdin’s magic lantern was real Floors vacuumed themselves
But most of all, wouldn’t it be nice if there was no hate, greed, hunger, or disease?
