Record stores, right? With digital music, iTunes and Amazon . com, they almost appear a factor of history. But less than!Record Store Day is here now for all of us to understand the great pastime of moving through albums, trying to find deals, finding new things, or possibly something old that people lost a very long time ago and completely didn't remember about. It’s an chance for all of us to reminisce (“Oh wow, I did previously pay attention to this constantly after i what food was in school!”), to talk about (“I wager Kayleigh will like this, I’ll get her a copy”) and also to ponder (“What was Fatboy Slim on as he authored that one?!”).First and foremost, record stores let us take some time from our day and silently enjoy who we're. Tastes and inspirations are specific to everyone, so let’s celebrate this individuality somewhere full of music and artwork, where there’s always a person to request for any recommendation, one which isn’t in line with the ‘Smurfs Go Pop’ Compact disc you purchased online like a joke gift for any friend.

There's still a few indie stores in Edinburgh, still selling vinyl too, namely Avalanche, Fopp, Vinyl Villains and a rake of second hand stores.
Whenever i can, i shop at the indie stores, been with Avalanche since it opened donkeys ago, they went on to put stuff out on their label....Jesse Garon and the Desperados, Shop Assistants and they released a load of the Flying Nun stuff from New Zealand....The Chills, The Verlaines, The Bats, Straitjacket fits, The Clean....classic indie pop !!!
Belle and Sebastian and Teenage Fanclub have played shop gigs for Avalanche too......a truly fantastic wee shop and arguably the best time in indie history...there's always been a strong indie scene in Scotland.......unfortunately i'm unsure about the current scene but i do like a lot of the newer stuff i've heard here and there !!!
The Smiths got me through my adolescence and they're still rarely ever touched !!!

Did you participate in record store day?
trying to save up for a turntable!! but i did drive to downtown winter garden (city in Florida) to this shady little record shop called Crispy's Records to browse. They still have Physical Graffiti but Crispy wants 25 bucks for it and he wont haggle with me.
