If "last days" also peril us as "time past" was peril them

The word translated perilous has the idea of troubles, difficulty, and stressful situations. This sort of atmosphere will mark the last days.

“The word was used in classical Greek both of dangerous wild animals and of the raging sea. Its only other New Testament occurrence is in the story of the two Gaderene demoniacs who were as savage and untamed as wild beasts and whom Matthew describes as ‘so fierce that no one could pass that way’ (Matthew 8:28).” (Stott)

The characteristics Paul will describe speak not of bad times, but of bad people. “We should note what the hardness or danger of this time is in Paul’s view to be, not war, not famine or diseases, nor any of the other calamities or ills that befall the body, but the wicked and depraved ways of men.” (Calvin)

“The description in this and in the following verses the Papists apply to the Protestants; the Protestants in turn apply it to the Papists; Schoettgen to the Jews; and others to heretics in general . . . but it is probable that the apostle had some particular age in view, in which there should appear some very essential corruption of Christianity.” (Clarke)

In the last days: This is a broad term in the New Testament, broad enough to where one could say that the last days began with the birth of the Church on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:17). The days of the Messiah mark the last days; yet the term is especially appropriate to the season immediately before the return of Jesus and the consummation of all things.

Though some think that any attention paid to the last days or Biblical prophecy is frivolous, we should be able to discern when the last days are; or at least when world conditions are like the Bible described they would be in the last days.

“There are sanguine brethren who are looking forward to everything growing better and better and better, until, at last, this present age ripens into a millennium. They will not be able to sustain their hopes, for Scripture gives them no solid basis to rest upon. . . . Apart from the second Advent of our Lord, the world is more likely to sink into a pandemonium than to rise into a millennium.” (Spurgeon)

In Matthew 16:1-4, Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day because they did not or would not understand the meaning of their times: Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times (Matthew 16:3). It is possible that Jesus would have the same rebuke for some Christians today who are unaware of the last days and the soon return of Jesus Christ.

What is the best day to go to Six Flags New England? Basically any day is possible.?

What is the best day to go to Six Flags New England? Basically any day is possible.?

I went there today, six flags new england woot woot!! I left my house at 8:30(live in framingham,ma) got there 9:54, park was just opening. The good:

Close parking, no lines, not crowed so walking is a breeze, you have time to check out some cheesy or mild rides and you will build some courage to go on wilder ones after such as the mind eraser, flashback, superman....etc. You will also be tempted to check out the water park during the "hot hours" but its best to check out 3-4 rides b4 going to the water park so coming early gives you enough time to do that.

Downsides:

Most of the rides are doing regular testing and that can take some 30 minutes-1 hour.... The water park opens at 11 and the park at 10 fye. I got a picture done by someguy there during this time and i went to the pandemonium.

Going there early is really good. You will have enough time to check out every ride you wish at least once if you stay there the whole day(goes by quick).Plus you can always wait in line a bit and be the first to ride for the day ;-p

Also saturdays and sundays are a nono, too crowded and youll be waiting in line and not have time to go on all of them. Mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays and even thrusdays are good because a lotta people have to work so. Friday gets crowded. I went on a monday last week and i went on the flashback 3 times one after the other, the waterslides at least 15 times, just going up and coming down ,no line whatsoever. Holidays gets really crowed so try to avoid.

Summary, get there at 10, check out some of the open rides, head to the water park after 4 rides ish or at around 1pm(sun gets really hot at 12.) then stay there till like 4-5 and go do the rides.

Hope that helps

As a birthday present, will the banks bail out Obama?

As a birthday present, will the banks bail out Obama?

There is no proof that Aug. 4th is his actual birthday. We just have seen a certificate (dated Aug. 4) which states that he was born. Now let's see... how many days would it take a mother of a newborn to get from Kenya to Hawaii, then fill out the paperwork to document a certificate of live birth...

I say Obama was born sometime in July, and his mother came to Hawaii. When she finally got to the registrar's office, it was August 4th.

hummm..... I'd say Obama's birthday may have been around July 2, which is the official "I Forgot Day"

and also on July 2, is the official "World UFO Day"

But who knows, maybe July 3 would be a more appropriate day for Obama..."Compliment Your Mirror Day", or there's another option for July 3, which would be the official "Disobedience Day".

here are some more options...

July 7 Chocolate Day

July 13 Embrace Your Geekness Day

July 13 Fool's Paradise Day

July 14 Pandemonium Day

Also on this date Sunday, July 14, 2024...
