No Tobacco Day

No Tobacco Day is really a day to highlight the side effects of tobacco and smoking, where every year the WHO honours people and organisations who make a fantastic contribution towards the decrease in smoking and tobacco consumption.Dependence on smoking is really a serious issue for most people, and smashing the habit may take several weeks – otherwise years – of dedication and self-discipline. Sites like world wide web.dependency.internet might help them on the way with information they require, but everything will ultimately rely on how determined the first is to stop smoking.Although you will find off-the-shelf items open to assist with the procedure, a typical method of kick-start smashing the habit it speaking to qualified drug abuse advisors, who're experts at helping individuals their efforts to stop smoking. Whether it’s No Tobacco Day or otherwise, every day is a great day to stop smoking something more serious than tobacco, for example drugs.

I think better when I smoke let me light up and I will get back to you. No seriously its a good question and I would like to quit smoking. Any day that makes you think of reasons to slow down or quit is a good day I guess.

Chewing tobacco once a day health?

Here's an idea which worked for me:

Get some 'herbal" non-tobacco snuff. Mix it w/your Copenhagen,

Skoal, or whatever you're using at one part herbal dip to

9 parts tobacco. As time goes on, increase the amount of

herbal dip versus tobacco; ultimately you'll be dipping

the herbal snuff w/no tobacco and you'll be weaned off the

nicotine. There should be no withdrawal if you 'step down" slowly enough.

At that point you can either quit (or happily stuff

your lip with a harmless product for the rest of your life if

you'd rather.)

This habit is a lot like thumb-sucking, it's 90 percent holding

the dip and 10 percent nicotine addiction (at least that's my

experience...)

Every person is different. Statistics on developing some kind of oral cancer are only useful applied to thousands of people. If you get an oral cancer, then statistics don't matter, because, for you, it is 100%.

A dentist's opinion may or may not mean anything. Brushing your teeth has nothing to do with prevention or oral cancer.

About your relatives.... "and nothing has happened to them yet " - - - well, something really bad could be diagnosed at any time. Oral cancers are notoriously difficult to detect and diagnose until they are quite advanced.

But, if you want numbers, here are some numbers:

More than 34,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer this year. It will cause over 8,000 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. Of those 34,000 newly diagnosed individuals, only half will be alive in 5 years. This is a number which has not significantly improved in decades. The death rate for oral cancer is higher than that of cancers which we hear about routinely such as cervical cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma, laryngeal cancer, cancer of the testes, endocrine system cancers such as thyroid, or skin cancer (malignant melanoma). If you expand the definition of oral cancers to include cancer of the larynx, for which the risk factors are the same, the numbers of diagnosed cases grow to 41,000 individuals, and 12,500 deaths per year in the US alone. Worldwide the problem is much greater, with over 400,000 new cases being found each year.

Perhaps you should read some of the stories on that web site. Might open your eyes to the risk and the consequences.

If you still want to continue with an activity that is well known to increase your risk of dying young, by all means, go ahead. I would advise you not to get married or have children, however - since your death will cause them great pain and hardship - better if there is no wife and kids. Make a will, and make sure your family knows your funeral service preferences.
