I think the key word there is intent. That it is your intention to attend doesn't obligate you to anything if you are not accepted at the school. You can check with the Emory coach or the other student athletes who won't know if they got in until April 1st (unless Emory is the only school with this practice).

What's your opinion on high schools testing their athletes for marijuana?

Parents hear that they are considering a doing marijuana testing for athletes at school. This leads parents to believe that marijuana is a growing problem either at the school, or in the community. The anti-pot mindset for this situation: "Protect the Children!"

If a kid smokes, 28 days later, it can show up on a drug test. Other drugs(alcohol, heroine, crack, cocaine, meth etc...) can dissipate from the body within 3-4 days. Marijuana is the only drug that's being found in these tests, so what's the significance of knowing someone smokes pot? If anything, it tells kids to use harder drugs so they won't get caught for it.

Another thing to consider is that there is money being made behind all this. Drug testing agencies aren't providing these tests for free. School policies like this are what cost the taxpayers(like you and I)
