Napping Day

Napping Day gives a chance to change after modifications to daylight savings when shedding an hour of sleep because of 'springing forward'. Mid-afternoon naps are an important part of many cultures, and medically proven to be good for you-- so right here's to justifying a couple of hrs of well been entitled to kip!

Does taking naps during the day affect your sleep at night?

Naps are extremely bad for your sleep cycle. To regulate your sleep, you must stay awake all day until you go to bed. By sleeping during the day, you disrupt your sleep cycle which prevents you from getting a full night's rest. After removing naps from your schedule, removing caffeine and sugar from your diet after 12 PM and going to bed at the same time every day are also helpful ways to fix your sleep.

When did your baby start taking 2 naps per day?

When did your baby start taking 2 naps per day?

My son consistently needed 3 naps until right around his 1st birthday. He's always slept around 11 hours at night, and then would take a nap from 9-10:30, 1-2:30 and then another from 4-5. When he made the switch to 2 around 12 months the first two just got pushed back bit by bit til we settled in on a schedule of 10-11:30 and 3-4:30. He's almost 19 months now and still needs the two naps most days unless he gets up past 8am... then we hunker down and pray for one looonnngg nap.

Caleb's always loved his naps though. My 13 month nephew has been on two naps since about 4 months, and he's almost ready to drop down to one now. I'd try to get the 3 as long as he'll take them :-)

10 month old wants 1 nap a day?

10 month old wants 1 nap a day?

Our son has been napping once a day only since 4-5 months old. Usually only 30 minutes a day. I did find as he's gotten older that the length of time during the day has increased though to about an hour a day most days. Sounds like your daughter is ready for only one nap. Unfortunately there isn't really anything you can do to change it. You just need to go with the flow. Tough though I know.
