Wednesday, May 30, 2018 is Mint Julep Day 2018. National Mint Julep Day The best Mint Juleps are,
The only thing I can think of is that it will soak up TOO much of the oils in your face, making it more dry than usual .. then eventually an oil slick since its trying to makeup for all the oil lost. If you notice your face becoming more dry/oilier than usual, then try to use only 2 times a week as suggested. I exfoliate everyday because I love how it makes my skin feel, and nothing bad has happened! :]
How is the mint julep mask? What brand do you use? I was thinking about trying this because I heard so many good things about it!
EDIT: Thanks! Next time I get paid I'll go to sephora to pick it up. I can't wait!
I need a simple Mint Julep recipe, can you help me?
Here are the ingredients:
1 tablespoon mint-flavored simple syrup (recipe follows)
2 ounces Kentucky whiskey
Sprigs of mint
First prepare the mint flavored syrup, which should be made a day or 2 before your party.
Here's how to do that:
To make simple syrup: Bring 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, without stirring. Cool to room temperature. Then fill a jar loosely with sprigs of fresh mint, crushed slightly, and cover with the cooled syrup.
Cover jar and refrigerate 12 to 24 hours. Discard mint. Refrigerate until ready to use. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
To make drink:
Fill chilled julep cup with finely crushed ice. Pour in the mint-flavored syrup and the whiskey. Frost cup, stick in a sprig of mint and serve at once
heres 1 without the syrup
4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
What kind of mint for juleps?
Use spearmint
Kentucky Derby Mint Juleps
Fresh mint, enough to yield about 2 cups after removing leaves and chopping, plus enough extra sprigs to put in each drink
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Crushed ice
Bourbon
Pre-Derby Day Steps (Making the Mint-Sugar Syrup):
Remove the leaves from the mint and chop them; you do not need to finely chop, just enough to break the leaves into pieces
Boil the mint, water, and sugar; stir until the sugar dissolves (about 5-10 minutes)
Strain the mixture to remove the mint leaves
Put the mixture in the fridge overnight
Derby Day Steps (Making the Mint Julep):
Fill a glass with crushed ice
Add the mint-sugar syrup and bourbon, using about 2-3 parts bourbon to 1 part syrup, depending on your needs
Garnish with a mint sprig and serve
