To this day, who owns the Magna Carta?

Assuming you're talking about the physical document: When the Magna Carta was originally signed in 1215, official copies were made for each of the counties. 4 of those still exist, and are owned by: (1) the British Library; (2) the House of Lords; (3) Lincoln Cathedral; and (4) Salisbury Cathedral.

The Magna Carta was amended and reissued several times in the 1200s - in 1216, 1217, 1225, and 1297. Several copies of each of these are still in existence. Most are owned by universities, government organizations. The Perot Foundation copy mentioned by a previous answerer is the only one in private hands - it is from the 1297 reissue (and is no longer owned by Perot, who sold it a couple of years ago to financier David Rubenstein and is on permanent loan to the National Archives).

What are some differences between the Magna Carta and a present day constitution?

The Magna Carta states simple that no man is above the law, while a Constitution like the one in play in Britain or the US usually lays out the division of governmental power and the responsibilities of each group, along with the means by which they may check each other.

Where is the Magna Carta?

Many copies of Magna Carta were made each time it was issued, so that all the participants could have one.

With the 1215 edition, one copy went to the Royal Archives, one to the Cinque Ports (ports with certain privileges) and one for the (then 40) counties.

Four contemporaneous copies or “exemplifications” still remain -

Two are in the British Library and both Salisbury Cathedral and Lincoln Cathedral own a copy.

All four declare themselves to have been "given by our hand in the meadow which is called Runnymede between Windsor and Staines on the 15th day of June in the 17th year of our reign" (1215). Each differs slightly in size, shape and text.
