Make a laminated (or non-laminated) bookmark: find pictures of the two of you or pictures she would like out of a magazine or inspiring words- it can be a few small pics or just one. Cut the construction paper to the size you want and start gluing the pictures on, then take it to Staples/Office Max, Office Depot or a store like that and get it laminated, then cut it. After hole-punch the top and put a ribbon or twine of some kind through the hole and tie it in a knot. You can even skip laminating it.

Make a 'love jar' and fill it with origami hearts, flowers and slips of paper with notes of appreciation written on them or 'I love you' written in different languages (on the back write which language it is).

Say I love you in different languages

Teacher Appreciation Day - Gifts?

Teacher Appreciation Day - Gifts?

if you are very close with them as you say, they would probably know kinda your career path and future plans?

a really thoughtful gift (if you have some time) and its free, would be making them a little "book" kinda thing just stating how helpful they have been in your life and in affecting your future, what you like about them, just how they have changed your life, maybe add a picture of you. you know, something they can keep forever and maybe keep in their classroom? and maybe just add a chocolate bar with it or something?

buying something is so easy, but making a thoughtful gift really shows that you do appreaciate them enough to do it! especially being a university student.

lip piercing question?

lip piercing question?

I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter how you dress, if you like piercings and want one you should get it. I have an appreciation for piercings on all people, young, old, preppy, goth, whatever.

Since you are involved with cheer-leading, you might want to talk to your coach on if there are any rules about you being on the squad with a facial piercing. I'm not looking at the judgment end as much as i'm looking at the safety end depending on how complex your competition routines are. It would be a shame to accidentally hook it while practicing or performing a routine.

as for your other questions....

I have my right lip pierced.

it was really quick and easy

pain I'm going to place at a 1 simply because you don't have zero as an option. no joke...I didn't even realize that it had already been done. I noticed getting my ears pierced way more.

cleaning:

rinse with an alcohol free mouthwash after everything that you eat/drink/put in your mouth other than water through healing

swish with sea salt solution (mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt per 8 oz of water) 2-3 times a day. soak the outside with sea salt as well. to do this, dip a cotton ball in your sea salt mix and hold it to your piercing for 5-10 minutes

you should also wash the outside with an unscented antibacterial or antimicrobial soap 2-3 times a day. Personally I prefer to use Provon, which is antimicrobial. It can be bought at many piercing studios as well as at medical supply stores.

healing time is 6-8 weeks. I usually lean towards the longer end of the healing time just to be on the safe side. get pierced with a labret stud. Its easier on healing and leaves more room for any swelling that will occur. You can always switch to a ring after its healed. I switch off and on between a ring and a stud personally. Depends on how subtle i want to be.
