League of Nations?

The idea was not very popular at the time, people wanted to remain isolationist. It failed on numerous large issues of its day, much like the modern UN.

The sad part is that an organization like the UN needs to exist, but it sucks so much at doing its job that it is only in the way of its own goals.

Robert Borden supported the League of Nations doing homage to the United States' President of the day, Woodrow Wilson, despite the fact Wilson's own nation did not sign on. The League of Nations was supposed to bring peace forever and Borden was not so utopian in his expectations.

Have you seen the U.N.(The League of Nation's modern day equivalent)? Everything they do is a day late, a dollar short (Rwanda, Sierra Leone, etc.)

I know it was Woodrow Wilson who proposed a League of Nations, but he couldn't get it signed into law in the U.S., so the U.S. wasn't part of the League. And the Germans, led by Hitler, kind of ignored the League, and went about their business (annexing Czechoslovakia, all that good stuff.). And the League didn't do anything about that, so that helped them fail. They might have had some sort of "Donate money to the League if you want to" system for making money. The Articles of Confederation in the U.S. did the same thing for collecting taxes, and it failed miserably. NOBODY gives money if they don't have to. Once again though, I'm not sure about that last part.
