My land-line phone has had a fault for 16 days now, Can I claim compensation?

YES IF and ONLY IF the trouble is on the outside line, or the telephone companies side of your line...

IF the trouble is inside your home, then NO you will not be entitled to any compensation...

They will NOT provide compensation for the entire time that your line has been out, only from the time that you reported the line out, until the time that it has been repaired

if your line still has not been repaired, then you need to wait for the line to be repaired to claim reimbursement... it is not as much as you would like it to be... divide your phone bill (prior to taxes, fees, line charges etc) by 30, that is how much credit you will get per day the line is out...

if the trouble is still on your line, and the phone company is aware of the trouble, and they have had access to your premises you should file a complaint with your states PSC/PUC

BUT... if they needed access somewhere on your property, and were unable to gain the access because you were unavailable to provide the access to them then the burden of providing access to repair the lines lies in your hands...

Do you still have a land-line telephone? Do you pay additional for caller ID?

Do you still have a land-line telephone? Do you pay additional for caller ID?

I used to think I was one of the most behind-the-times people I know, but not anymore. Of course I REMEMBER rotary phones--I'm 42--but I haven't heard of one still actually in use until now.

I don't have a land-line phone at home. I haven't had one for maybe 10 years (at work, I have both land-lines and cellular).

Although I agree with the Power Failure scenario, as it applies to cordless phones, my cell phone/s will continue to work just fine when the lights go out (for several hours, anyway). We're not in an area where the electricity is likely to be unavailable for days on end. If that did happen, we'd probably be evacuating town anyway.

What are the letters for on land line telephone buttons?

What are the letters for on land line telephone buttons?

In a way they are all correct but you ask what they are for, not what they were for....

Today they are for text messaging.

In old days the letters were not where they are today & they were to link with an exchange.

Then they were put on the numbers as the americans had to many exchanges.

By the time england had the phones with letters on it had moved into marketing reasons....that never really took off in the uk.

which brings us up to today, and now they are used for text messaging (if your provider supports it).

Also on this date Sunday, March 10, 2024...
