iPod Touch isn't advanced...it's Apple! It's supposed to be easy...how much easier can you get with tapping Music.
But iPod Touch is worthless if you're going to the gym AND not watching videos...
Your best bet would be iPod Nano...but it can only hold 8 GB, which is 2000 songs (about). iPod Nano will withstand dropping better than any other iPod (except for Shuffle).
If she listens to more than 2000 songs, then get the iPod Classic 80 GB.
But seriously, the iPod Nano is perfect for her (a tad bit harder than the iPod Touch, since Touch is just tapping while the iPod Nano...people have to get used to the swirly motion =))
