Emirates post , and only delivers Express & Mumtaz mail, along with government forms or documents or IDs or GSM cards (as all these require photo ID anyway). All the other "regular" postal articles & parcels go to your P.O.Box , or the receivers P.O.Box that you specified.(no door to door for regular post, though some buildings have postal P.O. Boxes ).
You can also get one at Mailboxes Etc.
If you don't want it to go thru post office you have to use private couriers such as Fedex & DHL who can deliver door to door.
Fedex can get a parcel from Canada to UAE in less than 72 hours and deliver on the 4th day. For postal parcels Express is the fastest but that could take from 4 to 7 days for actual delivery, the registered & regular post take 2 to 4 weeks.
CANADA POST ISSUES advice?
I would suspect shipper fraud before thinking the Post Office has it in for my parcel. It is strange that the shipper would not want a tracking number. NO COUNTRY GIVES INTERNATIONAL TRACKING. Once it leaves the first shippers hands it is rather difficult for them to trace each and every package through other companies(countries) systems. You start at your end with formal questions to local postal officials missing package report. They cannot start looking until it is reported missing. You may also want to contact local police an a procedure for you for International Mail Fraud. Did you pay by CREDIT CARD?? Can get payment stopped.Contact Canada Post
how long will it take for an item to be posted from the USA to Australia?
I was getting plain old post card from a friend that were taking only a week, so you should aim for customs clearance if it is a package, and I'd still say a week, not much more.
