How long does it take to learn Korean using Rosetta Stone?
Louie the linguist's answer is right. Rosetta Stone cannot help, especially with a language like Korean or Mandarin or Cantonese. You'll get a few bare phrases, that's all you'll get. This is a pretty long answer, so be patient and allow me to explain. If you WANT to speak Korean (or any language) like a native; then you'll have to HEAR and SPEAK it as you were learning to talk like a child. That is the MOTHER RULE of learning to speak, ANYTHING. A language, a dialect. Hearing, communicating and verbal repitition must all be mastered BEFORE writing, grammar and reading. Want PROOF? There are millions of HOMELESS and undeducated people living on the streets in this world. They can STILL communicate fluently in their mother tounges or language.
Guess what? Foreign language schools DO NOT FOLLOW THIS RULE. They literally sit there, make you write crap, do stuff on the board, make notecards BEFORE speaking. .....!!!????
That is equivalent to making a little child write a paragraph. No no no. So as I said, hearing and speaking before writing. This will help you avoid confusion with the accents and speed of talking.
The EXACT program for this is the Pimsleur Approach, which only costs $10.95 + FREE S&H as opposed to the expensive $90+ Rosetta Stone which is as useless as foreign language classes. They make you read and match crap, stuff that will get you nothing but a few words. The link for this is in the source section.
ABOUT RS: A person, tried to learn Japanese with Rosetta Stone. He thought he had it, until he went to Japan and could barely understand a THING. He gave his experience HERE ON Yahoo Answers, so that's proof.
