Imbolic 2019 is on Saturday, February 2, 2019: What did you do for Imbolic?
Saturday, February 2, 2019 is Imbolic 2019.
unfortunately i was sick, so i missed it completely.
i'm sure the goddess understands though.
Imbolic ,Candlemas, Imbolg, Brigid's Day?
Within our circle we usually have three candles set up for Bride (rhymes with meed, a.k.a. Brigid) since she was the patron Goddess of poets (yellow candle) , craftsmen (red candle), and healers (green candle). We also have stalks of wheat that we make Bride dolls with (these are hung over the door of our houses to keep evil at bay). Also, during ritual we have faery milk for the ale part of the cakes and ale. Faery milk is simply milk that was slowly warmed and honey is dissolved within it then cooled. Also this is the time when the priestesses of Bride would bless the plows for the coming season, so you might want to bring in any gardening tools you use and bless them during your ritual.
One thing of importance to remember about Imbolc, before this day all greenery from Yule should be removed from the house and put outside. One of the reasons we bring in the greenery is because this gives the Fey a place to stay within our houses for the first half of winter to help keep them warm and safe. However, the fey do not like to be contained if they are kept in your house after Imbolc they will often turn mischievous. Better to let them free so they do not cause harm within your home.
Blessed Be )O(
what is imbolc, im becoming a wiccan and i thought i should know what festival it is?
Well it's Imbolic for the North Hemisphere (Lughnasadh / Lammas for the South). A Minor Sabbath preparing for the end of the North's winter.
So early symbols of spring before Easter.
There's a lot out there but this is a fairly concise one..
