Why does my husband need CONSTANT appreciation?

Your husband is probably one who speaks the "Words of Affirmation" love language. He is telling you that he's done things, not to be boastful, or to drive you crazy, but because your kind words motivate him and make him feel good about himself. You may have also noticed that he does this more so with you, or perhaps ONLY with you. This is because the affirmations from YOU make him feel desired and wanted.

I know it may take some getting used to, but if you love him, try to cater to this need for a little while. I think you'll find that it will become less annoying to you, and with your extra acknowledgement, his "love tank" will get full and he'll need less reassureance.

Check out the book I've referenced below... it could be great for both of you! Best Wishes!

Should I feel hurt if my husband ignores me on Mother’s day?

Should I feel hurt if my husband ignores me on Mother's day?

I would always get "Well, you are not MY mother." from my ex. And as a result of him not making Mother's Day a special occasion, my kids have never done it either. It has to come from the dad, he must teach the kids that Mother's Day is special or they won't think it is important. Kids live what they learn.

My special needs daughter also doesn't feel this is an important day, but this year, she has a boyfriend. HE called me and wished me a Happy Mother's Day and when we got home from visiting MY mother. He was here and had done all my yard work. I have known this young man for about 6 weeks and he has put more effort into today than any one of my kids. He was taught that today is a special day.. and it shows.

Room Decoration Ideas For Teacher Appreciation Day!?

Room Decoration Ideas For Teacher Appreciation Day!?

What a great idea! If I were to decorate a classroom, I would choose things that really represent your teacher. Listen closely and catch any hints she gives, such as, "My husband is taking me to a concert this weekend, and I am super excited!" Then you could decorate her room with music notes, saying things like, "Being in your class is music to our ears" or something. Have everyone make her a card or two, and maybe a poem, and make a huge decorated box for her filled with them. Maybe bake some goods too, like cookies and brownies, anything she likes. Just think about what she likes, and decorate the room with those things.
