At twelve weeks, the wing will likely instill bad habits and is not a good toy for a puppy.
Start with the basics and reaffirm your lead and control over him continually. Only well disciplined dogs are used for any task, and a well behaved dog will not scare game away. After the basics are well entrenched, move up to hand signals and decoys. The puppy at this stage, needs his environment baby proofed and the more time you spend with your dog, the better his training will go. Good luck, and yes get all information for care, control, health and happiness of your dog.
Pigeons are the rat of the sky and harbor many diseases and parasites, dispose of all dead animals properly.
How do I potty train my 8 week pug?
dog trainer 30 plus yrs- Three days of consistency and you will be well on your way.
So set aside a weekend for potty training.
I put a harness on them, leash them with a retractable leash and stick the handle in my pocket. Scolding loudly or even too sternly can bring on confusion more than understanding. Wherever I go they go...even when I have to go to the bathroom...or if someone else in the family is home they tuck her in their pocket. This brings trust...you become a leader they can trust. It also helps you to be able to “read” her signals. Sometimes it is just a squat, sometimes they turn, other times they simply look up quickly then squat. Amid the squat, scoop her up and talk sweetly saying, “go po-T outside” repeat it until you are outside. Keep her on the leash so she does not lose her train of thought. Keep repeating the command as if you are saying “don’t the flowers smell sweet today”...so it becomes a pleasant thing for her to hear thus she will be more likely to listen and learn. If she poos inside accidently keep her near you and pick it up with a paper towel. Squat down slowly and show it to her and say “go po-T outside”. Then take her out with you to put in “her spot”. Do not give her the entire yard to go in until she has potty training down pat. Let her collection stay for a few days so she gets that she has a designated area. A lot of times they will continue to go in that area for a lifetime and it makes cleaning up a lot easier...no hunting. After she goes outside kneel down and pet her saying all the “good po-T outside” ‘s that you can stand. Over exaggerate your happiness. You can then scoop her up and hug her, rub her belly, clap softly when she finishes. The last dog I trained on the third day would stay squatted until I would do “the dance of joy - clapping, wooo woooo, good po-T outside”. She expected it and absorbed all adoration I could bring her way. Dogs love learning new things...they also want so much to please their leaders. Remember to keep a cool head...don’t show anger or frustration because they will not respond positively to that. You can do this...remember it takes time and consistency as well as love. I am sure you will do a great job!
