Whoa, Nellie. And I thought I came up with some lengthy answers. With all due respect, I do believe that Yaybob has overstated the temperature of a laboratory burner flame by quite a bit.
A typical burner (as are the burners in my lab) is fueled by LP gas and the upper regions hit around 900-950 C, while the tip of the inner blue cone should come in at around 1100 C.
Temperatures of 1500 to 2000 degrees as suggested are simply not observed. Otherwise test tubes, beakers and iron rings would all be melting and clearly they don't.
The safety flame is one for which the air supply is throttled. This results in incomplete combustion, lower temperatures and a yellow flame.
Chemistry Bunsen burner lab?
some guesses:
2) intensity of gas
3) more gas
4)blue
5)yellow
6)probs yellow because there is more actual energy than just gas.
just a guess, it may not be right
Hope it helps!
