The shelter I adopted my dog from didn't even ask if I had other dogs or pets at home. I know that my shelter will allow you to bring your dog to meet the new dog, but they don't require it. Don't be selfish, Be happy with what you have, Shelter dogs take a lot of time and money, some thing that you as a child cannot provide. There's no point in adopting an animal of you can't provide for their needs, I know you mean well, but you'd be doing more bad than good.

Money cannot be easily replaced - your mother has to work long hours to provide for teh animals yiu already have, while at the same time feeding you and keeping a roof over your head. Your a child, you really have no clue about the real world.

Adopt dog from shelter or pet shop?

Animal rescues will often make you jump through hoops, but animal shelters are generally pretty easy to adopt from.

No matter what you do: do NOT go to a pet store. Pet store puppies come from puppy mills, and those are not the sort of places you want to be supporting.
